Masterclass Informations

During the congress there will be three different types of masterclasses

  • Open masterclasses/conferences on a specific topic
  • Masterclasses included in the project “Call for young saxophonists”
  • Traditional masterclasses

 

OPEN MASTERCLASSES/CONFERENCES ON A SPECIFIC TOPIC

Every day, from the 13th to the 18th of July (10am to 12am), there will be a 2-hour-masterclass on a specific topic with the following professors:

 

  • CHRISTIAN LAUBA AND RICHARD DUCROS: Lauba’s saxophone works (13th of July)
  • VINCENT DAVID: Bach (14th of July) 
  • STEFANO DI BATTISTA: Jazz repertoire and improvisation (15th of July)
  • LARS MLEKUSCH: Approaches to new music (16th of July)
  • FEDERICO MONDELCI: Saxophone and orchestra (17th of July)
  • CLAUDE DELANGLE: French repertoire (18th of July)

 

For every masterclass there will be 2 places available (each individual lesson will last 60 minutes). The masterclass will be structured in a form of an open conference and will also include a small introduction on the topic. 

All musicians who want to participate in these masterclasses can do so by registering online and accessing the website under the section ‘Applications’.Application forms and submissions of proposals must be sent by the 19th of April, 2020. NO PAYMENT is required at this point yet. The payment has to be done by the 30th of April, after the candidate has received a confirmation email from the organizers. The fee is 110 euro

When filling out the online application form, please enter in the gap "topic area of the project" the indication "THEME MASTERCLASSES ", the name of the professor and the work proposed.  (example:Federicico Mondelci, Alexander Glazunov: Concerto per saxofono op. 109)

Pianost for the masterclass

A pianist is always available for these masterclasses. If needed, send in the online application the scores for the pianist. If needed, rehearsals with the pianist 90 min before the masterclass are possible (20 minutes per candidate). If a pianist is not needed, please DO NOT ATTACH the scores. 

 

MASTERCLASS FOR THE PROJECT “CALL FOR YOUNG SAXOPHONISTS”

For the project “Call for young saxophonists” masterclasses especially for the students of the saxophone orchestra will be organised. During the 4 days of rehearsals, from the 13th to the 16h of July, international renowned professors will teach the orchestra, work in groups on different didactical topics/performance praxis and will also play as soloists on the day of the concert. These masterclasses are INCLUDED in the application fee (80 euros) for the project “Call for young saxophonists” (more details in the rules).

TRADITIONAL MASTERCLASSES

The 3rd type of masterclasses is the traditional masterclass. During the congress, international renowned professors will be available every day for individual lessons.  These masterclasses are also available for all kinds of groups like quartets, ensembles etc. and for every level. Every masterclass has limited places.

Masterclass duration

  • Single masterclass: 40 minutes
  • Masterclass for quartets: 60 minutes
  • Masterclass for ensembles: (any ensemble) 60 minutes

Masterclass fee

IMPORTANT: The fee for these masterclasses is completely independent from the application fee for a project and also from the auditoris fee.

  • SINGLE APPLICATION (one lesson): 40 euros (40 minutes)
  • QUARTET APPLICATION (one lesson): 80 euros (60 minutes)
  • ENSEMBLE APPLICATION (one lesson): 120 euro for (60 minutes)

A pianist is not provided for this masterclass.
