The “Sasso Rosso” choir of “Val di Sole” was born in 1967 by the initiative of some young friends enthusiastic of traditional and folk singing. The choir, that stood out in the limelight immediately received positive critical and public recognition, succeeding in obtaining prestigious statements in many choral competitions at
regional and national level.

Musically linked, yes, to the traditional vein, but at the same time aimed at the rediscovery and appreciation of Trentino songs that are still unknown, or lost, or forgotten, in over 50 years of uninterrupted activity the choir has researched the field and managed to acquire of his own repertoire of unpublished songs thanks to
the collaboration of musicians such as Andrea Mascagni, Teo Usuelli, Camillo Moser, Nunzio Montanari, Renato Dionisi, Fulvio Zanoni, Giovanni Veneri and others.

Over 500 concerts are held in Italy where he has sung in the most prestigious theaters: Filarmonico di Verona, Bibiena di Mantova, Sala Estensi of Ferrara, Verdi of Padova, Haydn of Bolzano, Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan and Parco della Musica in Rome, with a monographic concert of pieces harmonized by A.B.
Michelangeli.
Many tours abroad: in Germany, Czech Republic, Estonia, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Finland, Bosnia and in 2002 in Kyrgyzstan where the choir represented Italy in front of the representatives of the Nations in the closing event of the international year of the mountain.

More than 100 songs are recorded by the choir, the last recording is an anthological collection “Il canto di una valle - 50 anni” ("The singing of a valley - 50 years"). This proposal is not only celebrating the 50th but represents a desired and heartfelt goal, a document of determined commitment, of research, of participation and competition, of proud belonging to the Trentino tradition but with digress and successful experiments with instrumental formations.
